Vintage sporting bolt action rifle built on a US military Model 1917 action. It features 26" heavy tapered barrel, no iron sights, "drop box" fixed magazine with hinged floorplate, Bausch & Lomb optic mounts on receiver, a "Dog Leg" bolt handle, serrated curved trigger, manual safety, sporter stock with semi-pistol grip, thick oversized rubber recoil pad, no sling swivels, high comb, end cap, and black plastic grip cap. Bore is dirty with strong rifling, and needs cleaning. Metal is blued with 40% remaining coverage and displays scuffing on barrel, and handling wear throughout. The stock is fair to good condition with minor scratches/dings, a recoil pad that is too large, a fairly heavy scratch on the end-cap, and a chip by the tang which may have been made for clearance. The action is smooth and crisp. This rifle is topped with a Bausch & Lomb, BALvar 8, 2.5-8x scope with fine crosshairs.
